The Government of Ukraine does not issue visas at the point of entry into Ukraine. Based on the purpose of entry, a BUSINESS, TOURIST, PRIVATE or a TRANSIT VISA is granted. Each of the above visas may be applied for at the most convenient Ukrainian Consular Office on the original visa application form, which can not be duplicated.

To obtain a visa no invitation letters are necessary for citizens of the US, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Turkey, or citizens of the countries of the European Union for obtaining official, business, private, cultural, or sports visas. For all others countries it is required an invitation in order to obtain visa to Ukraine. You can get invitation letter from any certified tour operator in Ukraine, e.g. at: Unipress Travel Agency or IntelService Center.
NEW: From May 1, 2005 no visa required for citizens of the countries of the European Union and some other European countries! NOTE: please check your visa carefully. Sometimes foreigners are refused entry to Ukraine because they thought they possessed a multiple entry visa when actually, their visa was valid for only a single entry.
