The Cathedral was devoted to Pokrova, the largest Cossak's holiday. It was destroyed heavily during the last war, was restored in 1960-1965 (architects V.Petichinsky and V.Korneyeva). The original air has been returned to the exterior.

The Bell Tower - was built simultaneously with the Cathedral. It looks like a defense tower, it was a part of the fortification of the Kharkiv Fortress.
The Bishop's House - was constructed in 1820-1826 in classicism style. It is the earliest preserved buildings in Kharkiv that combined the functions of dwelling and public building. Since 1920 it is used by the Museum for the exposition dislocation.

Blagoveschensky Cathedral (1888-1901)

The temple project was developed by the architect M.Lovtsov. Five-cupola cathedral in Russian and Byzantine style is combined with a high tier bell tower (80 m high) adjoined to it, tower's silhouette resembles gothic cathedrals.

The facades of the Blagovishchenska Cathedral have been treated with horizontal lines of the brickwork alternating with plastered belts like the Byzantine constructions.

Interior decoration is splendid. 29 icons were painted by A.Danylevsky. The walls have been painted by the painters I.Svyatchenko and Marchenko by the motives and with ornaments borrowed from Saint Sophia Cathedral in Constantinople'.

Uspensky Cathedral (1771-1777)

The memorial is in baroque style. Because of two-tier window disposition the building looks like a palace of typical for baroque rather than cult construction. The memorial has been adapted for the House of Organ and Chamber Music (since 1986).

The bell tower was built in 1821-1844 by project of Ye. Vasil'yev in classicism style, the construction was completed by A. Ton (88.9 m high). In 1862 the four clock-faces were installed on the bell tower.

Chorale Synagogue (1909-1914)
The building was constructed by the project of the Petersburg architect Ya. Gevirts with the participation of the architect V. Feldman. A synagogue cupola carried in an unexpected element of the eastern color into a city silhouette. After the revolution the Synagogue was closed and the building was used not for a purpose. In 1991 the Synagogue was returned to the believers, the restoration is carrying out in it now.
